Whitening (bleaching) your teeth is just one of the things we can do to give you the smile you’ve always wanted! Now, you can have whiter teeth in only a few weeks, with straightforward, simple tooth whitening procedures, which are completely safe for you and your teeth.

How does Tooth Whitening work?

A special gel acts on the enamel, releasing oxygen molecules which travel through microscopic tubules in the structure of the teeth to reach the inner dentine. The oxygen bleaches out the colour, and the result is a lightening of the colour of the teeth.

What is involved in Tooth Whitening?

On the first visit your dentist takes impressions of your teeth and makes very thin trays which fit your teeth snugly.

On the second visit the trays are checked for fit, and the starting colour of your teeth noted.

There are two methods of whitening your teeth, depending on the degree of whiteness you want to achieve:

Method 1: For a really natural effect, you take the trays home, with the whitening gel and full instructions. You wear the trays, with the gel, either at night while you sleep, or for an hour once or twice a day, for as long as necessary to achieve the whitening that you want. This usually takes about two to three weeks, if the trays are worn each day.

Method 2: If you want to achieve very white teeth, very closely-fitting trays are made, and worn every night for 14 consecutive nights. Once this initial conditioning phase is completed, the final deep whitening is achieved with a single surgery session using more powerful gel for one hour in custom-made trays.
